Integration Engineer | London

Why did you join the FT?
I joined the FT because of its culture and people. The people who interviewed me professed the FT to have a very friendly work culture, with lots of potential to learn new things and grow. This was my first real job since graduation, so a place where individuals are allowed to grow and contribute was important to me.

What has been your biggest accomplishment so far?
Starting from scratch with a product I had never actually worked on before, to becoming the go-to person for that same tech was something which I will always be proud of. It reaffirmed my faith in myself and proved that nothing is impossible once you set your mind to it. I was invited by Akamai (a cloud delivery platform) to become a member of their customer advisory board last year. As far as I know, I am the youngest member on the board!

What has surprised you the most about working at the FT?
It is both exciting and scary to work in a company which treats you like an adult, no matter what your position is. Your opinion and work is appreciated, you can set your own pace and most importantly, you get to choose what you want to do (most of the time!). This empowers you to keep challenging yourself. The FT is filled with amazingly talented and intelligent people who are great if not, the best - at what they do! There is so much to learn from.

What has been your favourite team experience at the FT?
I am a part of an amazing team - it feels like a family! We went axe throwing last year for a team away day. That’s one of many of my favourite team experiences.

If you had to describe the FT in three words, what would they be?
Friendly, fun and famous.
